New service launched to provide help for stress in the workplace

CLE Consulting & Training is delighted to announce its newly formed association with Corazon Health Limited.

Corazon Health provides health, pre-employment and industrial screening services as well as insurance and driver medicals, for individuals and corporate clients at home or in the workplace seven days a week.

Research has shown that physical illness – such as heart disease and stroke – can be worsened or brought about by emotional and workplace stress.

A recent survey of 700 senior HR professionals carried out for the Health & Safety Executive and the publication Personnel Today, found that:

• 83% believe stress is holding back the UK’s effort to close the productivity gap
• 60% say it is adding to staff retention problems
• 51% of employers believe that only half of all days lost to stress related sickness absence are genuine
• 27% cite that when a company is perceived to be stressful, this damages recruitment efforts
• 67% said that an inability to cope with organisational change was a fundamental cause of stress

It is estimated that as a result of stress-related absence, up to 2.5 million working days are lost each year in the UK at a cost of almost £4 billion in lost productivity.

In response to these appalling statistics, the Health & Safety Executive is actively developing new Stress Management Standards which will be launched in their final format next year.

Recognising the difficulties that employers are experiencing in dealing with stress management, Corazon Health has been looking for an alliance with a specialist provider in order to be able to add stress management to its portfolio of services.
